Highlights:

Old Newari village of Sankhu, the terraced farmlands, superb Mountain View, visit to beautiful Buddhist stupa of Namobuddha and the serene temples in Panauti.

This is the most popular among the hikes around Kathmandu. The three day hike starts from Newari town of Sankhu.The town itself and the Vajrajogini temple are popular places for visitors.The four hour walk from sankhu to Nagarkot is Namo Boudha Hikethrough scattered villages and terraced farmlands, you often meet the villagers along the way.

We reach Nagarkot early afternoon. We have unforgettable panoramic sunset and sunrise over the Himalaya range from Nagarkot.

The mountains seen from here Include world's highest mountain Everest.

The walk from Nagarkot to Nala on the second day is along a forest ridge that commands superb view of Kathmandu valley and the himalayas. Then we descend a downhill walk through forest , villages and terraced farmlands.

The third day starts from a spot about 30 minute's drive from Dhulikhel. Like Nagarkot, Dhulikhel is a popular himalya view point and a quiet town.It is a easy 3 hour walk from here to Namobuddha which is a quite old and popular stupa among Buddhist pilgrims. Legend says a kind prince cut his body to feed a old tiger unable to move to get his food and people made this stupa to remember the same Buddhist prince.

From Namobuddha we walk through lovely farm land and villages for another 3 hours to reach the quiet and artful town of Panauti.The burning ghats, the suspension bridge over the small river and the well preserved temples are difficult to pass without visiting.

Day 01: Early morning breakfast and drive for 1.5 hour to Newari town of Sankhu (1382m). 4 Hour walk from Sankhu to Nagarkot(2170m) . Pack lunch on the way. Sunset over Himalays in Nagarkot. Overnight at Nagarkot Hotel.
Day 02: View sunrise on the Himalayas. After taking breakfast leave for Nala 5 hour walk, pack lunch on the way. Overnight at hotel in Dhulikhel(1500m), sunset view in the evening.
Day 03: Sunrise view and breakfast from hotel roof top. 30 minutes drive to trail head and about 3 hours walk to Namobuddha. Take pack lunch there and descend for Panauti for about 3 hour to reach Panauti (1464m) from where we catch our transport back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Hotel. Note: For those who have not 03 days time,  We can arrange just one day's Dhulikhel-Namobuddha-Panauti hike .

 

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour or Kathmandu valley tour

The Kathmandu is also known as Kantipur or Kingdom of Nepal. In Kathmandu, you will visit the temple of the Living Goddess who acknowledges the greetings of the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence. Kashtamandap - the source of the name Kathmandu and supposed to be made from the timber of a single tree and the Durbar Square are with its array of temples overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the ancient place of the Nepalese Royalty.

 

Swaymbhunath Temple

The Swaybhunath situated approximately 4 kms. This Buddhist Stupa said to be 2000 years old forms the main structure, which is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four-sided base of the spire are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.

Patan Durbar Square

The Patan city is five Km. away from Kathmandu City. Patan known as Lalitpur is the city of fine arts, enclosed within four Stupas builds in 3rd century AD, by Emperor Ashoka. You will see the Durbar square; the Krishna Temple built by King Siddhi Narsingh Malla, Hiranya Varna Mabavihar and MahadouddhaTemple. A trip to The Tibetan Refugee Camp and the Handicraft Center will also be done while visiting Patan, where you will witness the hand weaving of Tibetan carpets and mounding of metal statues.

Pasupatinath Temple

The Pasupatinath situated 5 kms. east of Kathmandu City, Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple built in pagoda style has glinted roof and richly carved silver doors. Visitors are permitted to view the temple from the east bank of Bagmati River, entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden to all non-Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of shivaratri, which falls in the month of February/March. Behind the temple are the cremation grounds.

Boudha Temple

This Stupa, 8 Km. east of Kathmandu City, is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behavior and human prosperity. King Man Deva built this Buddhis Stupa at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It has built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels, the shrine ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priest.

Bhaktpur Durbar Square

Bhadgaon known as Bhaktpur meaning the city of devotees, this place is the home of medieval art and architecture. Lying 14 km/9 miles of Kathmandu City, this place founded in the 9th century and is shaped like a conch shell. The city is at the height of 4,600 ft. above sea level. In Bhadgaon you will visit the Durbar Square with its array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 Windows built by King Bhupatindra Malla. Here you will also visit the Taleju Temple, which is the best example of Pagoda style structure in Nepal and stands on five terraces on each of which stands a pair of figures, two strong men, two elephants, two lion’s two griffins and two goddesses.

The best time for Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour is better except the june/july because of monsoon. You can choose the date for this tour as per your desire and holidays.
